Vivien Tanner
Vivien was born in Scotland in 1952. From an early age she whiled away the hours in creative pursuits and took great delight in the natural world around her. She showed early promise and her parents fostered her love of art.
A career as an artist seemed a dream but she followed her love of the natural environment. She gained a degree in Geology and Geography at Strathclyde University in Glasgow and later completed a teaching degree.
In 1974 Vivien settled in Australia and commenced a teaching career in Sydney. Marriage to Kit and raising two chidren whilst maintaining her teaching left very little leisure time. These years were richly rewarding but Vivien still felt the urge to paint.
In 2004 Vivien resigned from teaching and relocated to the Shoalhaven and focussed on her passion for art. She studied under several eminent artists experimenting in a range
of styles and media. Her preferred mediums are watercolour and acrylics although she enjoys mixed media and charcoal too.
In 2006 she felt reay to exhibit and quickly gained recognition receiving several awards.
