Philip Reuter
I am a multi-disciplined artist born and raised on the South Coast of NSW. I began drawing and painting from a young age and am largely self-taught, gaining my studio knowledge from West Wollongong TAFE and University. I currently work from my studio in Perth. I have been inspired by the intricate process of printmaking, the science of colour and early photographic principles. I infuse modern graphic, illustrative tone to my works as a direct response to an upbringing rich with film, mnusic and literature.
My newest work reflects the interaction between the human form and light. I use high contrast lighting to create closure, and order a sense of background detail, synchronising contemporary aspects with classical roots.
I have entered 7 selected exhibitions and won 3 awards.
