Jill Wilson
A practising full-time painter/printmaker since 1990, working mainly from my studio on the family property “Glenthorne”, Narromine and now living and working from my studio in Leura.
My work has been in many galleries. I travel overseas on work related trips as often as possible and in 1996 was fortunate enough to live and work at the Cite-International Des Arts, Paris and in 2002 I was guest of the Northern Territory Craft Council based in Alice Springs as Artist in Residence. These experiences have had some influence on my work.
I paint in most mediums but predominantly in oils, pastels and acrylics and allow the work to change in response to the different medium. The printmaking involves etching on zink plate in order to produce a series of hand coloured intaglio monoprints and production of hand coloured collagraphic monoprints often then worked over with pastel and paint.
